Who it affects: Anyone who day trades a margin account, bots included
Official site: finra.org

FINRA Regulatory Notice 26-10 replaced the old pattern day trader rule, including the $25,000 minimum and the day trade count, with intraday margin standards. The SEC approved it on April 14, 2026. Brokers have until October 20, 2027 to put it in place, so yours may still apply the old limits. What to do: ask your broker which rule your account runs under before a bot starts day trading.

What we report

  • New AI trading bots. Launches worth a look, and the ones worth a skip.
  • Pricing and plan changes. When a free tier shrinks or a feature moves behind a paywall.
  • Broker API updates. New authentication, rate limits, or endpoints that can break a live bot.
  • Outages. When a platform or broker connection goes down during market hours.
  • AI features from brokers. New assistants, screeners, and automation tools built into trading apps.
  • Regulation. SEC, FINRA, and CFTC moves that affect automated retail trading and AI marketing claims.

How every story is written

Each news post answers three questions in the first few lines:

  1. What happened, with the source.
  2. Who it affects, by broker, bot, or account type.
  3. What to do now, if anything.

NO BS, no price predictions, no “this changes everything.” If a story does not change what you should do, we say so.

Why a news section on a bot review site

Because the fastest way to lose money with a trading bot is to find out about a change after it breaks your strategy. A broker updates its API on a Friday, and a bot that ran fine all week sends bad orders on Monday.

News also keeps our reviews honest. When a pricing change or outage hits a bot we have scored, the AI Trading Bot Reviews page gets updated and the change is dated.

Our take

We started this news desk because the AI trading tool market changes faster than any static review can keep up with. Pricing pages change without notice. Free tiers shrink. Broker APIs switch login methods on a Friday. If you run a bot, those changes are not trivia, they are risk. Every story here ends with what it means for your account, because news you cannot act on is just noise. If you spot a change we missed, send it in. Reader tips are some of the best early warnings we get.

Quick answers

Can I use AI for trading?

Yes. Traders use AI to scan for setups, summarize news, write strategy code, and run automated rules through a broker. AI does not remove risk. The useful question is which part of your process it improves, and how you check its work.

Is AI trading really working?

AI trading tools work as tools. They can speed up research and execution, and some traders use them well. Claims that AI produces steady profits on its own are not supported by evidence. Follow our news coverage for what changes, and our reviews for what holds up.

What AI trading news matters most if you run a bot?

Broker API changes, outages during market hours, and pricing or plan changes matter most, because each one can break a live strategy or raise its cost overnight. New bot launches matter next. Hype about AI stocks matters least for bot users.
